Out for a beautiful afternnoon sail with my sister Kathy and her awesome new man John. We went out to Hecksher and back. Just beautiful. It was great catching up with Kathy and we just love John. They’re very good together and that was great to see. Just off the BYC and the mouth of our canal, Larry went into a big turn in order to take the sails down. Suddenly…..shit! The cable slipped off and we had no steerage! Amazingly, we all remained calm. The boat just kept turning and within about 3 minutes, Larry had the emergency tiller on and we were good to go! I’ll attempt to have Kathy send me some photos from that day as I didn’t have our camera…. I’ll post them soon.
Steve Heimlich is in the backyard as I write putting things back together. Larry and I are racing tomorrow in the BYC Women’s and Men’s Championships. Should be a fun day. We may head over to Hemlock late tomorrow. We’ll see. More to come!
